Passed driving test yestoday @five dock RTA
I am so lucky, I passed the driving test yestoday at Five Dock RTA. It is my first time to take the test. I met a kind examiner and familiar routine as practiced.
Here, I'd like to thank my friends Bob, instructors and the most important, my wife and her parents for their support and encourage.
Happy! But a long way to go on safe driving!

日本和欧洲泥石流预警做得最棒
泥石流的预警目前问题是预警时间提前是否足够。在预警方面，日本和欧洲等国是做得最好的。日本预警系统中使用一种导线传感器，在泥石流发生的初期，固定在警戒区域的导线被泥石流拉断，传感器随即报警。不过它一旦切断后必须重新连接，不适宜布置在泥石流多发地区；还有一种震动传感器，泥石流的震动以及声波被传感器探知后发出报警信号。而欧洲在治理泥石流上也做得很到位。以德国为例，所有的河流和沟谷都做了堰，每隔几百米有一个，这使得河水对河床不再下切，河岸的坡度也不会变陡，雨量再大都没问题。但这样的思路在中国并没有被完全接受。
